Blackboard User Names & Passwords |

IMPORTANT NOTE
REGARDING USER NAMES AND PASSWORDS: If you are, or have
been in the past, a JSU employee and you are registered for
classes, or have registered for classes in recent semesters, your
Blackboard and other JSU accounts have been consolidated in
JSU's new Banner information system (which is the system behind MyJSU).
Because of this, student/employee Blackboard accounts have also been
consolidated. In most cases, your Blackboard login will be based on
your employee email and ID. Please try both your student login,
and your employee based login. If neither will work, please
contact the Office of Distance Education for assistance (for
Blackboard only). You may email us at

782-8172. Blackboard User Name: Your Blackboard User Name is the prefix of your assigned JSU email address. Blackboard Password: Your default Blackboard Password is the four (4) digits of your birth month and day plus the last 4 digits of your JSU ID number (i.e. if your birthday is February 29th and the last 4 digits of your JSU ID number are 4321, then your Blackboard Password would be 02294321). We recommend you change your password the first time you login. If you don't know your JSU ID number, please contact the Registrar's office at (256) 782-5400. Blackboard Access: Once you have determined your user name and password, click here for information on activation of your Blackboard account, how to access the Blackboard system and information about other course content systems instructors may use instead of or along with Blackboard. If you have registered for an online course, be sure you have reviewed the Notes for Online Courses. If the semester has begun, and you still have concerns about your status in the course after reviewing all information, you may want to contact your instructor. Blackboard Access: Once you have determined your user name and password, click here for information on activation of your Blackboard account and how to access the Blackboard system. Blackboard course activation may be on a different schedule than account activation. Go to the Course Availability page for more information about the availability of courses on Blackboard. Note: The above is assigned on a fixed schedule. If you are a new instructor, and need access to Blackboard prior to receiving your official account, please use the Blackboard Account Request Form to request a special account that can be used until you receive your official account. If you are not a JSU employee or student, you may have
been assigned a special Blackboard account at the discretion of a
Blackboard administrator. If you are participating in a workshop
offered through JSU on Blackboard, your workshop leader/instructor should
be able to assist you with obtaining an account and/or providing you with
your user name and password. If you obtained a special account for
another reason and can't remember your user name and password, please
contact DLHelp@jsu.edu for
assistance. Please provide your full name, reason for having the
account, Blackboard course you need to access and any other information
that may be helpful in providing you with assistance.
