Jacksonville State University and Alabama Science in Motion are partners in a unique science program that is impacting science education one classroom at a time. It is a “share the wealth” program that transports biology labs to area high schools for the purpose of enriching the student’s science experience. The program utilizes a large van to transport over $100,000 worth of science equipment and supplies to high schools for student usage. Janet Evans serves as the assistant project director for the biology program and oversees the maintenance of the science equipment, supplies and teacher training. Biology teachers are taught how to effectively use the science equipment in order to implement the labs with their students. After the training, the classroom science teachers can select which labs are to be brought to their school. For more information contact Janet Evans at: evansj@jsucc.jsu.edu |
