CRITERIA FOR THE RAY J. AND RUTH C. RINGER
FACULTY AWARD
1. The person eligible for applying or being nominated
for this award would have to have been hired under the job title of faculty as
specified in their original contract. They can only
receive this award once during their time at
2. To be considered as eligible to apply they will need
to show evidence that they teach 50% or more during the regular semester
contract year. This should be at least
one graduate and one undergraduate course per semester or more.
3. The person eligible for this award will need to show
evidence that they excel in the three areas of scholarship (including
publications, presentations, etc.), community service from direct involvement
in organizations, clubs, or charities, and exemplary classroom teaching.
4. Submission of the application along with evidence for
meeting all three areas listed in # 3 along with a current vita will be
necessary by the posted date of submission.
5. Submission of the proposal (at least a page in
length) will be required explaining how these monies will be used for faculty
development and/or travel. Proposals
will need to establish how this award will contribute to the development of
skills of the applicant, the applicant’s department, and

department head endorsing the need for this specific request is required.
7. The applicant must not have submitted or been funded
for this proposal for any previous request for funding from
