Minutes of the November 3, 2004 meeting were reviewed and approved.
GIFTS/AWARDS AND EXTRA COMPENSATION: Dr. Turner reported a statement
has been added to the Supplemental Payments and Awards policy to
clarify that gifts and awards are not to be included in extra
compensation.
ORGANIZATIONAL CHART 2004-2005: Dr. Turner reported a revised
organization chart will be forthcoming. Dr. Meehan is modifying
the chart to show the JSU-McClellan Director reporting to the Associate
Vice President for Academic Affairs.
MAILING DIPLOMAS: Ms. Campbell reported the President’s approval to
charge a $10 mailing fee for diplomas. The fee will be charged
beginning spring graduation.
EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH AWARD: Dr. Turner reported the President’s
approval to change the Employee of the Month Award from a $25 cash
award to a $50 gift certificate. This change will become
effective January 2005.
ADMINISTRATOR AND FACULTY EMERITI NOMINATIONS: Dr. Turner reported the
nomination, from the AVPAA, of Dr. John T. Finley for Department Head
Emeritus. Academic Council approved the nomination.
Dr. Turner reported nominations, from the Honors Committee of the
Faculty Senate, of Dr. Lowell Duffey, Dr. Jerry L. Smith, Dr. Ronald
White, Mr. Richard Bell, Mr. Eugene Williams, and Mrs. Barbara Wilson
for Faculty Emeriti. Academic Council approved the nominations.
Dr. Turner expressed her thanks to the Faculty Honors Committee for the
nominations.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Ms. Williams announced the last day of the SGA Blood Drive today until
5:00 p.m. in the TMB Auditorium.
Dean Latham announced 59 nursing students accepted for Spring 2005.
Mr. Hubbard announced the Library will close for the Thanksgiving
Holiday at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23 and reopen on Sunday,
November 28 at 3:00 p.m.
Dr. Turner announced her visit to McClellan 3181 and the successful
renovation of the building. February 2005 is the planned date for
JSU to move into the building. Anyone interested in touring 3181
should contact Mr. Whitmore.
