Minutes of the June 16, 2004 meeting were reviewed and approved.
COPYRIGHT POLICY: Dr. Delap reported the Copyright Policy was
submitted earlier for review and/or suggestions. He asked that
the policy be moved forward to be in place by Fall. The policy
was approved by Academic Council and will be submitted to
Administrative Council and the University Attorney for review.
ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT REPORT: Dr. Delap reported the Enrollment
Management Report included with folders to deans and associate vice
presidents for review.
SEARCH COMMITTEES: Dr. Delap reported a memo from Ms. Davis, Director
of Human Resources, (1) requiring that all licenses be valid for any
position which may require licensure, (2) search committees refrain
from writing memos, letters or notes and forwarding them with the
application materials, (3) a thorough background check be conducted on
applicants, and (4) criminal background checks will be conducted by UPD
on each individual recommended for employment.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Dean Carr announced the cancellation of the July 14 dean’s meeting.
Dean Wade announced that classes are tight in Arts & Sciences for
orientation, but should have availability for the next week.
Advisors should be flexible in finding alternate classes, especially in
the sciences, where all biology labs are full.
Dr. King announced that the Office of Distance Education was offering
an Introductory Blackboard Training Workshop for faculty and staff on
Wednesday, July 7.
Dr. Hembree announced a Continuing Ed Conference next Friday, July
9. Brochures are available for those interested.
Ms. Campbell announced the first shipment of the undergraduate
catalogue next Monday, July 12.
