General
Information
Taking the Residual ACT will provide you with an ACT score which will
only be used by JSU for your admission to our university.
Test questions measure your knowledge in several subject
areas--English,
mathematics, reading, and science.
Pre-registration is
required and seating is
limited. The cost of the test is $45.00 paid at time of registration. There is no stand-by registration.
Registration closes at 4:30 p.m. the day before the test.
Examinees should bring No. 2 lead pencils, photo id (ex., driver's
license),
and a calculator. To

Special Notes
- ACT will allow for some accommodations for the Residual ACT
without contacting ACT, but it is recommended that students contact ACT
for Request for ACT Assessment
Special Testing at 319/337-1332. Proper documentation of the
disability must be presented before testing.
- Scores for the Residual ACT will be available the next
business day at 8:00 a.m. unless there are unforeseen technical
difficulties. Students may come by in person with a photo id to obtain
a copy of their scores or can complete the mailing request the day of
the test. No one but the student can
receive the score report and no one will receive their score report
over the phone.
- Residual testing is not accepted
for NCAA initial eligibility.
- If a student has taken the ACT Assessment through Residual
(on-campus) or any other non-national testing (e.g., DANTES, Project,
or Special), the retest should be taken on a national test date.
If this is not possible, a second non-national testing may be taken but
only after a minimum of 60 days has elapsed since the first
testing. If the 60-day time limit is violated, the retest scores
will be cancelled automatically. No refund will be made for such
cancelled scores.
- You may reschedule your test date once. If you do
not take the Residual ACT on the rescheduled date, you will forfeit
your
registration fee. Registration fee is good for the testing year
(November until October). No refunds
will be given.
