COVID-19 Update: September 22, 2021

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Thank you for making the Alabama Department of Public Health’s Kick COVID initiative a success. We had 65 football fans roll up their sleeves and get vaccinated on Saturday while the Gamecocks defeated UNA 27-24. If you were vaccinated over the weekend, be sure to complete your second dose and claim your JSU vaccine incentive before Oct. 15.

This Friday is the last day to get your first Pfizer dose and still have time to receive your second dose before the university’s $100 incentive deadline. It is now too late to begin a Moderna series in time to qualify for the campus incentive program. However, if you’ve received any COVID-19 vaccine between Sept. 4 and Sept. 25, you may upload your vaccine card online at kickcovid19.com to receive a $75 gift card to the campus bookstore.

To locate vaccine sites in your community, visit vaccines.gov. The RMC/JSU Health Center is currently offering the Moderna vaccine Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1-3 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call 256-782-5310.

Please continue to adhere to the following protocols:
  • If you test positive, on or off campus, complete a Self-Reporting Form and enter isolation.
  • If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, report to the RMC/JSU Health Center or to a healthcare provider for a test.
  • If you were exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19, send the details of your exposure to covidquestions@jsu.edu.
As always, if you have questions please email covidquestions@jsu.edu or visit the COVID-19 website for more information.
