Vaccine Clinic and Incentive Information

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Numbers are showing that the vast majority of those now suffering with the most severe symptoms of COVID-19 and requiring hospitalization are unvaccinated individuals. While the vaccine is available at most pharmacies and doctors’ offices, JSU will also provide opportunities to receive a vaccine on campus.

The RMC/JSU Student Health Center is offering vaccine appointments beginning August 17 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1-3 p.m. To make an appointment, call the center at 256-782-5310.

A Vaccine Clinic is planned for Friday, August 20, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in Kennamer Hall. Registration is available online. Please bring a completed Vaccine Consent Form and Vaccine Data Sheet to your appointment.

We have made some important improvements to the Vaccine Incentive Program. Instead of a gift card, JSU will provide $100 directly to our students and employees upon completion of proof of the vaccination requirements through their MyJSU account. This modification will allow for more flexibility on how one can use the incentive and enhance JSU’s ability to track payment information. Full incentive details are available on the COVID-19 website. If you have questions after reviewing these details, please email covidquestions@jsu.edu.

We understand some of you are hesitant to receive the vaccine because of things you’ve heard and read. To make an informed decision for yourself, please review our Vaccine FAQs addressing some of those questions and concerns. Most of all, please talk with your trusted physician or pharmacist and, if you are medically able, get the vaccine as soon as possible.

If you have specific COVID related questions, please feel free to email the Task Force at covidquestions@jsu.edu  or call 256-782-5886.

If you test positive, please remember to complete the Self-Reporting Form.

In Service,
