Atlanta's Dragon Con draws huge crowds

From Aug. 31 to Sept. 1, fans of sci-fi, video games, comic books, anime and more piled almost endlessly into Westin Peachtree Plaza in downtown Atlanta for the 26th annual Dragon Con, one of the nation's largest multimedia conventions.

Dragon Con 2012 boasted over 3,500 hours of panels, workshops and contests. Panel subjects varied from scientific and pop art to designer toys and paranormal activity, with workshops including writers' workshops, belly dancing, art programs and more.

Actor Anthony Micheal Hall, legendary comic creator Stan Lee and Simpsons/Futurama voice actor Billy West were just a few of the sub-culture celebrities in attendance this year.

Over 15,000 were in attendance this year, making it one of the most attended conventions in event history.
