    Miller Analogies Test (MAT)

    General Information
    The Miller Analogies Test is an ability test which requires you to solve word analogy problems. You will have 60 minutes to respond to 120 analogy problems. 

    Several JSU graduate programs require the MAT as part of the admissions process. You should check with your graduate program to see what they require for admission. 

    An MAT Candidate Information Booklet is available online or copies are available in Counseling and Career Services. The test costs $85.00 (paper or computer) which is payable to Jacksonville State University. Pre-registration is required. Late registration fee is $10.00 (paper or computer).

    SPECIAL NOTES

    • You may reschedule your test date once during the semester. If you do not take the MAT on the rescheduled date, you will forfeit your registration fee. Registration fee is good only for one semester. No refunds will be given.
    • Two forms of identification are required. One must be a photo-id & another id, preferable with your SSN (SS card, health insurance card, etc.). You will not be admitted without proper identification, and no refunds will be given.
    • No Cell Phones, Pagers, or Alarm devices are allowed in the testing room. If one of these devices is discovered during testing, you will be dismissed.
