General Information
The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests allow you to earn college credit by taking exams instead of taking classes. If your scores are high enough, you can complete your college degree in less time than the traditional college student.

Counseling Services administers the CLEP tests for a registration fee of $20.00 per test (cash/check/charge).

In addition, you will pay $80.00 to CLEP for each test you choose to take. Please be prepared to pay CLEP on line with a credit or debit card before the test begins. Registration forms also must be completed before testing. They are available on the Counseling Services webpage under Testing Services, then select CLEP as your test option. Print a copy of the form and bring in the completed form the day of testing. For further information regarding registration, call (256) 782-5475.

You should contact the Registrar's Office at (256) 782-5400 to determine what classes you can potentially CLEP at JSU. Counseling Services does not make policies regarding acceptance of CLEP scores at JSU. For an on overview of JSU policy regarding CLEP testing click here.
