Houston Cole Library
Jacksonville State University

The exterior of the Houston Cole Library was recently renovated. The aging white marble panels were replaced with "radiant red" granite. Also, a new design provides a new look for the tallest academic building in Alabama. The red granite will blend with the brick on adjacent buildings, giving a more uniform look to the campus.

The Houston Cole Library is the academic hub of the University and the information hub of northeast Alabama. Its 700,000-volume collection is arranged by subject on eight public service floors.

The library catalog is on-line along with the catalogs of several other Alabama universities. There are other reference sources available on online as well. The library is open to the public and borrowing privileges are available to adult residents for a $15 fee.

The building houses a conference center and Learning Services. Cole Library is a member of the Southeastern Library Network (SOLINET) and the Network of Alabama Academic Libraries (NAAL).
