Advisement & Registration

Attention Students!

The office will be open starting Monday, May 18th, by appointment only! Teams appointments are still available if you are not comfortable with coming to the office.

If you choose to come to the office, we have implemented the following precautionary measures for your safety:

1. Students and staff must wear protective masks
2. Only one student, at a time, will be allowed in the office
3. Students must remain outside of the office until called
4. 6 feet of social distance must be maintained between student and staff
5. Only students will be allowed in office

Advisement for Summer and Fall 2020 began on Feb. 3rd. To schedule an appointment, please email Mrs. Callender in the Advising office at

Prior to registration, classes are viewable through the Course Offerings link on your MyJSU or through the Interactive schedule on the Registrar's office website. You may also access the course catalog at

Information to review to ensure that you are ready for your advisement meeting:

  • Review the SBI Program Requirements in the interactive catalog
  • Update your checksheet with any completed courses
  • Prepare a trial schedule based on your remaining requirements, noting any prerequisites. Trial schedule forms are available using this link:
  • Bring your completed trial schedule into the Advising Center for approval.  Be sure that you have filled the trial schedule completely! You may also print the schedule page on Schedule Planner.

Transfer Students - Because many of you will be enrolled in classes at other schools, it is necessary to bring a copy of the current class schedule in which you are enrolled. Also, review on MyJSU an academic transcript. If any transfer work is missing, you will need to bring a copy of the transcript from that institution, along with your current class schedule in order to be advised properly.

Online Students - Due to the demand of online courses, those typically fill quickly. Please plan accordingly and contact your major advisor in enough time to avoid the classes you need online being filled.  For registration clearance, email your completed trial schedule and any questions to Mrs. Moses at  The subject line of your email should have your name, student number and the term you are requesting clearance.

If you have any questions that are not covered throughout this website, please contact Kellee Moses at using your JSU email. You must include your name and student number in the email and please be as specific as possible.

Remember your student class status is based on earned hours, which does not include those in progress. See your online transcript to determine earned hours.

Do not delay advisement.
