Graduation Certification

The Graduation Certification Advisor (GCA) advises and informs students of their progress toward graduation. Our number one goal is to assist students towards completion of their degree in a timely manner. To ensure this, we maintain accurate records of the student progress.

Graduation Certification Advisement can be completed in two ways: electronically for distant education students, or face-to-face appointments.

What is Graduation Certification?

Graduation certification is the process by which the undergraduate students meets with their GCA and their progress is reviewed.  Once certified, they can be cleared for graduation. JSU requires this be completed the semester before the student plans to graduate to safeguard that the student graduates on schedule.

Why do I need Graduation Certification?

By participating in the Graduation Certification Advisement, the student will be assured that they have met, or will meet, all of the requirements for their degree. They will be given pertinent information they need to prepare for graduation.

Schedule a Graduation Certification Advisement Appointment

All students within the School of Arts & Humanities will need to schedule an appointment with Mrs. Barbara Cook at JSU requires that students meet with their Graduation Certification Advisor the semester BEFORE they plan to graduate to ensure they have information on all requirements needed to graduate.

** ECE Registration will be open from September 26-October 6, 2018 at 4:30pm.**

JSU requires ALL students to take and pass the ECE Exam. Students are eligible to take the ECE Exam after they have completed EH 101, EH 102, and 48 credit hours. It is highly recommended that students take the ECE Exam upon becoming eligible and not wait until their last semester to take it. Doing so could result in postponement of graduation. ECE Exam Information and Registration.

JSU requires ALL students to take the EPP Exit Exam during their last semester.  EPP Exit Exam Information and Registration

Major Field Exam (MFAT) is administered during the graduating semester and in accordance with accreditation standards.  Registration information and dates for the MFAT will be announced by each department and distributed to students who have followed application instructions.
