Graphic Design and Beyond
The JSU Department of Visual Communication Design is designed to continue the development of the artist in advanced concepts of graphic design and closely-related visual communication areas within the fast-changing world of communication. The degree is a 60-hour terminal degree program to develop the student as a graphic designer, achieve the credentials to teach at the college level, and the ability to continue development as a visual artist.
The course of study integrates both the classroom and studio in the pursuit of a degree. Both of these areas are designed to assist students in developing a professional portfolio by the completion of their program. During their study they will work closely under the guidance of the faculty.
Both scholarships and teaching assistant positions are available to qualified applicants. Students will study and work in a modern facility with new graduate studios.
