Future Gamecocks Week: Home Edition is a week-long series of events and activities that will allow our future students to connect with current students, as well as get some great information prior to orientation and the fall semester. In the era of COVID-19, all events will be virtual-but super fun nonetheless! As you are getting ready to embark on your quest to success at JSU, please join us in these events June 21-26th! Descriptions and links to all events will be posted shortly.

Virtual Meeting Access Information:

    • Details: Students should record an interview using whatever technology they have available to them to record an eight to ten minute audio file. This can be done with the voice memo recorder on their phone or a variety of apps they can download for free. There is no need to purchase fancy apps or equipment. They should then forward that submission to JSUReads@jsu.edu in an email that includes their name, phone number, and mailing address.
    • Our focus for this week's event is going to be Future Gamecock Stories. They can center their interviews to highlight how they are preparing for their first year of college -- leaving home, moving into a dorm, having a roommate. They might want to discuss what makes their journey to becoming a JSU student unique -- challenges they faced or unexpected twists. Two other options are for our students to discuss why they specifically chose JSU and how they expect to make the most of the experience. There are some questions and prompts in the attached document, but they may also come up with their own. Winners will be announced on Monday, June 29th, so all submissions must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, June 28th.
